Monday, March 11, 2019Sue, Jo-Ann, Drew and families: I was so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. Such a nice man. When Lorne was sick, Ron came to the house and spent a whole afternoon discussing woodworking tools, model trains (of course) with him. We really enjoyed having him here. After Lorne passed away I met Ron in the Bank one day, and got the biggest hug and he said lots of things to tell me how sorry he was Remember all the good times you had with him. Nothing will ever change that.

Monday, March 11, 2019It was a treat to have an opportunity to know Mr. Merkley and to be a neighbour. He was very kind, particularly to my Mom and Dad after Dad was diagnosed with the same illness that Mr. Merkley had. I remember him being soft spoken, and also seeing him with the model trains he seemed to enjoy so much, particularly around his grand children. It saddens me to think of losing persons like Mr. Merkley, as both he and the parents of many persons my age leave us much sooner than we would have liked. Conversely, I can't stress enough the joy that has come in to my life and many others with the assistance of Susan, Drew, Jeff and many others, and for which I remain grateful. Best wishes to all of you.
